Kathy Collier joined Presley Burton & Collier, LLC, in 2004, shortly
after the firm was organized as Presley LLC. Prior to joining the firm,
Kathy Collier was in private practice with another Alabama firm for over
twenty years.
Kathy has experience serving as bond counsel, company or borrower
counsel, issuer counsel, trustee counsel, lender or bank counsel and
underwriter or placement agent counsel in various types of public
finance transactions. The structures of the transactions on which she
has worked vary greatly and include the issuance of notes by
corporations, conduit financings through governmental authorities by
both for-profit and non-profit entities, credit-enhanced transactions,
both with bond insurance and letters of credit. She also has worked on
the formation of governmental authorities and various acquisition
transactions involving health care facilities. Kathy also has
experience serving as company and trustee counsel in connection with
various types of investment agreements and as company counsel and
provider counsel in various interest rate swap transactions.
Kathy was born in Mobile, Alabama. She received her law degree from The
University of Alabama School of Law in 1979, where she was Associate
Editor of the Alabama Law Review and a member of Order of the Coif, a
Hugo Black Scholar and selected for membership in Omicron Delta Kappa.
Prior to law school, she attended Louisiana State University in Baton
Rouge, Louisiana from which she graduated magna cum laude in 1976 and
where she was selected for membership in Phi Kappa Phi. She is a member
of the Birmingham and American Bar Associations and the Alabama State
Bar Association. She is also a member of the National Association of
Bond Lawyers.
