Kevin Beatty joined Presley Burton & Collier, LLC in 2005, prior to
which time he was an associate in the public finance group with Maynard,
Cooper & Gale, P.C., in Birmingham.
Kevin's practice involves participation in numerous municipal and public
finance transactions as bond counsel, underwriter's counsel, issuer's
counsel and borrower's counsel. Kevin has experience in a full range of
financing structures for both tax-exempt and taxable obligations,
including fixed and variable rate transactions, structured finance and
certain financial derivative products. He has particular experience in
financings and acquisitions for the healthcare industry. In addition,
he has assisted in advising clients in connection with IRS audit
proceedings.
Kevin is a native of Birmingham, Alabama. He is a 1989 graduate of
Auburn University and a 2000 cum laude graduate of The University of
Alabama School of Law. In law school, he served as an Articles Editor
for the Alabama Law Review. Prior to attending law school, Kevin worked
in production planning and inventory control for a steel manufacturing
concern located in Birmingham. He is a member of the Birmingham Bar
Association and the Alabama State Bar Association. He is also a member
of the National Association of Bond Lawyers.
